The Frosty Flake, created by bpiphany, is a replacement controller that turns your CoolerMaster Storm QuickFire Rapid mechanical keyboard into a fully programmable keyboard. It’s built around an AVR microcontroller from Atmel, which is compatible with multiple ways to program your board including TMK and Easy AVR.

Each controller has been assembled and tested, and is plug (and magnet and program) and play.

Don’t already have the CoolerMaster QuickFire Rapid, get one here
This is where you will create all of your macros. Once you have created all of your macros, you need to save the .hex file.
Next, you’ll need to install dfu programmer by following these steps in Terminal – http://macappstore.org/dfu-programmer/
Next, navigating in Terminal, go to the directory where you saved the .hex file and run each one of these codes:
sudo dfu-programmer atmega32u2 erase
sudo dfu-programmer atmega32u2 flash “the file you saved”.hex
sudo dfu-programmer atmega32u2 reset
Your Frosty Flake should now be programmed with all of your macros. These stay with your keyboard, so when you change computers all of your macros will still be there.
TIP: You can set up a key to set your Flake into boot mode, so you won’t need to use the magnet the next time.
